I’m thrilled to be working for JOH India Program. While I am a
Northeasterner, from Portland, Maine, my passion has long been focused
on the country of India. I come to JOH with over 10 years of
Indian adoption experience.
I pursued both a Bachelors and Masters degree in social work with
a strong interest in cross cultural studies. Since earning my MSW
from the University of New England in 1999, I have worked in the field
of international adoption and humanitarian aid, with a focus on India
and Nepal.
Previous experience included work in the areas of public health,
harm reduction, refugee resettlement, family counseling, and
homelessness prevention. All of which added depth to my
understanding of issues families face around the world.
My work in the adoption field has allowed me to travel
extensively throughout the country of India, escorting many beautiful
children home to their waiting families. I find endless beauty in
the landscape and the people of India and I look forward to continuing
this work with JOH, uniting many more children with wonderful families.
I have a wonderful, close family in Maine and adoption is a big part of
our family. I’m mom to a beautiful 6 year old daughter who is the
joy of my life.
