Dear Expectant
Parents,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read
our profile.
We know that this is a difficult process
for you and want you to know that you are in our
prayers.
We are Bob and Jen.
We live in Illinois.
Bob is from Illinois
but Jen is a transplant from a small town in
Indiana.
We enjoy the area because it is in the
middle of northeast
Illinois
near the big city yet far enough away to be out
of the rat race.
It is also near most of Bob’s family.
We are family oriented so we cherish
being near them.
Bob is a computer programmer at a
software development company that creates time
clocks and time and attendance software.
Jen is a legal assistant/secretary at a
law firm.
Both of us went to college.
Bob has a BS in Management Information
Systems.
Jen has a BA in Speech Communications.
We met in 1999 through a mutual friend.
After 2 years of dating, Bob asked Jen to
marry him.
We were married in 2003 in a snow storm
in Northeast Indiana
and thankfully the honeymoon was in a warmer
climate.
Jen sings in a local community choir.
She has been singing since childhood.
She also took piano lessons but they
didn’t stick as much as the singing.
She also enjoys arts and crafts and calls
herself a craft-a-holic.
She took many classes in drawing and
painting in school.
She has a booth at a craft mall.
Bob is completely into computers.
It was a passion since childhood.
He even ran a small bulletin board social
networking type of group back in the 90’s (think
Facebook but really small and no photos).
Bob enjoys cars and is a fan of the Chevy
Corvette.
We visited the Corvette factory in
Kentucky
on vacation once.
Both of us enjoy listening to Christian rock
groups like Petra, Skillet, Disciple, etc.
We enjoy going to concerts and music
festivals.
Call us old fashion but we still like
buying CD’s (although Bob has an mp3 player
too).
We are a pet family.
We have a mixed breed dog named Goldie.
She is a mix between a collie and fill in
the blank.
We have several fish and a cockatiel
named Duckie.
We are so excited about our journey in this
adoption process.
We believe it is a great way to grow our
family.
We have not been able to conceive a child
biologically.
We look forward to opening our hearts to
a child through adoption.
We are open to open adoption and hope that you
are too.
It is so important for children to know
their heritage, to have that extended family
connection, and medical history.
Jen’s father has a foster family and
because of that she has an entire branch of
family that is related by that foster
relationship.
Our hope is that we can work together to
give that extended family to your child.
This is our first adoption.
We hope to adopt again.
We both have siblings and know how
important those relationships are. If we are
able to financially, Jen plans to be a stay at
home mom at least until they are in school full
time.
If Jen is unable to stay home, Bob’s
family is really close and will help with the
care of the children while we are away at work.
Family is really important to us.
Most of our vacations involve visiting
family in different states or actually going on
vacation with them.
Jen’s family still lives in Indiana and we visit
every other month.
Although, after their first grandchild
arrives, we’re sure we will see them more often.
On Bob’s side of the family we have 3
nephews and a niece, so there will be plenty of
cousins to grow up with.
We are both kids at heart and enjoy taking time
to play.
We are kid magnets and seem to attract
children when we are with friends and family.
Kids are so full of joy and fun and truly
do keep you young.
We hope to continue to grow younger with
our family.
We cannot comprehend the very hard decision that
you face.
You are on our minds and in our prayers.
We know
that you love your child so very much.
We appreciate the time you are taking to
consider our family for your child.
Whatever you decide, we hope the best for
you.
God bless you,
Bob and Jen
